Ok I'll bite.....how much is the monster cl and how does it compare to your hh income and credit history length? I want a quantum card too.....just sounds good haha. I just got approved for 7500 on their plat plus and they said because of my relatively short (although good) credit history.

    QUANTUM $10,000 min...

    NOTHING GREAT ABOUT IT!!!

I have 8.90% that I had to have a HISSY TO GET!!!!!!!

    NOW EVERYBODY IS GETTING 7.90%!!!!!!!!!!

EVERYBODY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS??? IT'S HISSY TIME!!!

I CAN'T GET 0.00% BT OR EVEN 1.70% OR 3.70% OUT OF THEM EITHER!!!

I gave up after 7+ years asking for a LIMIT INCREASE...

Lol! This sounds like a creditnet dance club theme song or something. Second only to "CreditNet Ho". :)

Rack3 - A former poster named DorisK once had a 100K line, I think from MBNA.

    Oh, I did not mean I wanted a 100K CL! :)

I just meant that the application stated that. I am looking for something in the $7500-$10000 range. I like the way the Quantum card sounds.

Can someone give me a link to the application? I checked MBNA.com but I see no app.

I used to have the direct line to apply for the Quantum card - can't find it. But...call 1-800-932-2775 and tell them you want to apply for a Quantum card and they'll give you the number. Just telling them that a friend mentioned the card to you is good enough (if they ask.)

Weather I don't think you can apply for Quantum ,apply for plat plus then wait a little while and call R for an upgrade goodluck my first cl was 15000 and they give you more every 6 months or sooner.

Will, do you remember which CRA they pull and what your status was at the time you got the $15000? So establishing a platinum plus account is the only way to get a Quantum? How long did you wait, and did they offer it or did you have to ask for it?

You CAN apply for a Quantum directly (over the phone). You do not need a Platinum Plus as a prerequisite.

It WAS required that you be SOLICITED for QUANTUM...or call to have your PLATINUM PLUS "UPGRADED"
You had to have a current credit limit of $10,000 or more...or be close enough that they could just "BUMP IT" to $10,000...
The only benefit QUANTUM has is no over-limit fee or late fee (I THINK)...it was $30.00 max on a BT...now has the same $50.00 max as any other MBNA card...
It does have the same "GO-TO" rates across the board...(PUR/BT/CA)

You're right, George. It WAS required (etc.) Now just the knowledge that the card exists is good enough for MBNA to permit you to apply proactively.

    Re: Quantum

Thanks to you guys I'm a credit junkie now.....sigh....

I called MBNA today (800-437-0180) about an offer today and wanted to ask a question to confirm the rate - I asked for the credit analyst and gave my ref. number (from the approval) and they confirmed the info, however I am sure when I called the number they told me I had to have the platinum plus first (which they are sending.)

Didn't know if the number might help any of you. Keep in mind the people who answer only process app's and if you don't have an offer from the mail it's at least 12.99% (you can get 9.99% on their website.) They cannot answer any questions but the analyst could. I guess they work on commission only and want to get to the next app.

I don't know what the quantum rate was but my plat. plus was 7.99 fixed. First 8 months was 0%. I thought that was pretty good.

BTW someone mentioned they only wanted a credit limit of 7500-15000---why was that?

    Re: Quantum

Figures TransUnion. What is the deal with them. My TU scores always lags behind the others. These are my numbers last time I checked.

    EQU: 730
    EXP: 729
    TU: 693

Should I wait on the MBNA and see if my TU score ever comes up?

Amy, that was me that said I was looking for $7500-$10000. I am not sure how more more I can expect, and to be honest that would be sufficient for me.

    Re: Quantum

Hey.....my TU is my lowest, frankly it has to be below your 693 because it is lacking about six of my good accounts and I got approved with MBNA for plat plus if that's what you were looking for.
