Anyone ever have this issue? I moved out, cleanly so I thought, and now they've sent me to collections for $118.00. I need to refi but there's no way I'm paying them. I was never notified of anything being owed, etc. Anyone had any luck getting out of a similar situation? I know this has happened to many. Please let me know what process you used. It will be appreciated.
Some states require that you be sent an itemized list of any amounts due for cleaning, damage, etc, within 20 to 30 days of moving out, or the amount is not collectable. Did they have your new address, did they send you a timely bill, and does your state require this?
