Hi all! I called experian ealier to get old addresses out of my report. I was told that my file is owned/managed by an affiliate called Credit Data Southwest. Any dispute I have should be sent to them. Has anybody come across this situation?
Is it safe for me to send my dispute to them?
    Thanks!

Just follow the directions on the box. (LOL)
Yes, its safe to send it to them. In those kinds of situations where I know an affiliate is in the mix I sort of like to send it to both the parent and the child. That's just a personal preference however and probably don't help a bit.

I've dealt with both Credit Data SW & EXP CreditExpert for disputes. While not as easy as online disputing, CDSW does produce results (at least did for me).

This might not apply to you, but when I was disputing with TU, my file was owned by the local branch here in town. I completely ignored them and sent all of my letters, disputes, etc. directly to Trans Union.

I got nastygrams from TU and the local bureau the first few times, and then TU took my file back from the local folks. I've never heard from the local bureau again and I've since completely cleaned TU.

    GC,

Always go to both. If you have to sue you'll sue both the parent and the child (lol).

    :)
