I have read, thought I cannot remember in which trhead, that you cannot dispute an acct w/ EX 3 times in a row. Is this true?

3X? What? I cannot even get them to do it twice!

If you dispute it NOT MINE...and it comes back as yours...YOU HAVE TO GET A LETTER FROM THE CREDIT CARD/LOAN COMPANY THAT SAYS THAT IS NOT YOURS...they (CRA) are required to accept that information and delete it...

...you just can't keep disputing the same thing over and over the exact same way...you have to change tactics...

    George,
Can you dispute the balance or date and pray for deletion?

You can consider yourself lucky if you can get them to redispute it a SECOND time. Also, it does not matter if you change your reason for dispute (i.e. instead of "not mine" state "incorrect amount" so on...) They will STILL REFUSE YOU!!!!

I believe if you wait 90 days, you can get them to redispute the item (but don't quote me on that)

    Good luck,
    Sal

I tried the "not mine" tactic last time...Didn't work. I was going to try the "unauthorized signature" this time because I don't believe there would be one as this collection relates to a phone co. Also, it was listed at an address that is not listed on any of my CRs. If that matters.

Baday, What is "unauthorized signature"? Is that part of a law, or one of the choices? I haven't heard that one before.

It was one of the choices...Seems like a good one. I think they only have a computer printout at best (if even that).

EQ and TU deleted this collection the first time I disputed. So, I even wonder if EX has even tried to contact the CA. I am going to try to find out today by contacting EX to see who they verified through, then call the CA to see if they have been contacted.

Obviously, something is funny if both TU and EQ deleted the first time (both were deleted on the 30th day, so I assumed that the CA didn't respond).

    Baday,
I would disagree with your notion that if two do , number three might. I have a charge off that is not coming off anytime soon because of former address still on the cra. Notice how sometimes the CRAs have different addresses for you and different name spelling. That is how we sometimes get lucky, but as always I wish everyone luck

I just spoke with the CA. According to their records, EX notified them once during the dispute process!

I disputed this line w/ them twice! It doesn't surprise me and only validates (no pun intended) why I hate them sooooo much.
