    Queston:

Recently received letter from collection agency and wanted to know if I should send a validation letter to the original creditor or to the collection agency.

The dispute is legitimate. Basically Verizon sent my cell phone acct to collections are we closed it saying that we signed a contract extension, now they are trying to collect $900 on this acct $700 of which is atty fees etc.

Any help/advice you'll can give is greatly appreciated.

As I understand, you should send it to the collection agency. They probally have less of the information that can prove the original (or alleged in your case) debt than the original creditor does.

RIGHT & go to the Letters forum and pick out the one for Val. that best fits your case. Send it CRRR to the CA.
