Hi everybody, I need some advice. My negative reasons on Experian are: â?¢ Application for credit made in the last two years â?¢ Presence of an installment loan (other than a real estate loan) â?¢ The outstanding balances on your revolving accounts are greater than the average in your credit category The problem is reason number two - all of the items marked installment on my report ARE real estate loans (in other words, I have no non-real estate installment loans, not even a car payment). Item one is the first mortgage on my old house, correctly reported as paid. Item two is the second mortgage from my old house, correctly reported as transferred to... Item three, the transferred second mortgage from my old house, correctly reported as paid. Item four, the first mortgage for my current house, correctly reported as open/current. All of these items list "installment" as the account type on the detail page. However, my current mortgage appears in the "real estate" section on the Credit Manager page. So I'm thinking that regarding the other three (or one of them), Experian doesn't know that they were real estate loans. Sorry this got long, my question is should I dispute, marking all as real estate loans and not installment, or should I just leave well enough alone? THX! Experian 744 Equifax 682 TU ?
Seems like the installment loans may be helping your score? 747? that's pretty da** good! The only thing i could think of, is if those accounts might be considered finance companies even though they act as second mortgages? Have you applied for anything recently and been denied? What were the reason for the denial? humblemarc
No, no denials, I just want credit for being a good boy Note that my REAL score is 682, that over 700 thing is just Experian's fake score. I need to get my score as high as possible, because I need to refi my second mortgage. The only way I could get into this house was take a Home Equity Line of Credit. Because that reports as a revolving account, it looks (and is scored) like I have a $100,000 maxed out credit card!
