Hello everyone. Quick question: When a trade line is in dispute with the CRA, does it show up when you apply for new credit? Or does it say account in dispute.

    Thank you,

It shows up as disputed by consumer.

I can't find a clear answer on this anywhere on the site...how long is this 'disputed by consumer' line allowed to be on there. And, what must the CRA or OC do to have it removed?

Great question! I don't know, but I would certainly like to know the answer to this also. I have many tradelines with this notation. It seems many times, instead of actually doing an investigation, they put this notation on the tradeline. That's my take on my situation anyway.

    Anyone know?

I too am wondering about this as I have had that notation on some of my accounts for 3+ months.

I have on on an account that is paid off and in good standing...I don't know if I should write the CRA and say, 'Hey, I don't dispute that accout, it looks ok to me' or what...
