Hi, I disputed info with the 3 CRAs. I disputed 4 items with TRU, and I already have the results back (2 weeks later). However, I haven't heard anything back from EQ, or EX (one more week before it's been 30 days). I stupidly disputed about 7-8 items each with these two.. before I learned that I shouldnt do too many at a time. (I did the disputes online, and not by mail) Assuming I don't hear anything back, what would be my next course of action? Send them a letter, or redispute---only this time going 2-3 at a time? Thanks a lot!
Nothing wrong with doing more then 3 items at a time. I did 46 once and didn't have a problem. They hated me for it, but I didn't have a problem with geting it resolved.
My last dispute with Experian included (16) Tradelines. I did this via the mail CRRR, and sent along copies of any proof I had for the accounts I was disputing. It cost me close to $11.00 to send all this info certified. I bet they cursed me for weeks over that letter. My results = 14 items DELETED! I am still in the process of disputing the other 2 at this time. I am awaiting my results at month's end. Don't worry about too much or too many disputes. As long as you have good reasons for disputing them they will have to be investigated. If it is your first time disputing a tradeline then they MUST investigate your dispute! Be creative in your reasons for your disputes. I don't want to advocate lying to the CRA's, but little white lies have done wonders for me! I would have to admit that all of the deletions were for things I really did owe. Mostly all were charge offs. This is not to say some of the info they were reporting was not inaccurate because some of it was. If I would have done the advised (2)disputes per month I would have perfect credit because it would be over 7 years by then, LOL! Keep Dispute'n those accounts, good things will happen! Tac
Yes this is my first dispute. The charge-offs you disputed, I'm assuming they had been paid off for a while before you disputed it, right? I have a charge-off that has been paid off since '98, but it's being re-reported every month... would you think I can dispute these someply as "not mine"? or how did you get yours done? Thanks!
