I have often wanted to dispute an acct to a CRA based on detail such as the balance owed or the date reported. If disputing under one of these reasons, aren't we inadvertantly admitting that the acct is ours or that the account does have an outstanding balance due(past due)? I have disputed under those reasons a couple of times years ago, but have had refrained lately because of paranoia. Anyone have any insight on this? Also, I can't seem to wrap my mind around what information a CRA rep can see when I submit a dispute of an acct. Can the rep see a list of my previous disputes(many, many, many disputes)? Details of dispute reasons used for each acct? The possibilities are endless. Insight on this would be helpful, too.
I'm new, but so far i've had luck with vague disputes such as "not right" or "inaccurate" or "unfairly reported". This way seems to make them work to "make it right" without my admitting anything. The CRAs and OCs seem to respond quickly to the word unfair.
