Ok so I got a copy of the credit report in the mail from CSC. I have a couple of questions. First one of the collection accounts was deleted however it still appears on the report. Same account number and everything. If it was deleted, why is it still there? The other question I have is about a possible violation. Another CA didn't verifiy so CSC deleted it. But the same CA appears with a different aco**** number. But it's the same account. All they did was add an additonal letter to the account. Looking back at an older copy of the credit report, they listed the same account twice. Now I know that is a violation. What should I do? Send an ITS letter for the violation but offer to settle for deletion to advoid sueing?
If it was deleted, why is it still there? Toni ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> Cause it weren't really removed.
Then why did their letter say that 'This item was deleted'? What should I do, send another letter saying 'hey you said you deleted this but it's still there.' Why would they say it's deleted and not actually delete it? That doesn't make any sense. Do they think that I'm a complete idiot and I wouldn't notice it was still there? Or did they forget to take it off? Everything else that they said was deleted was gone. The last reported status date was 4/2003 for that account.
This happened to me also, as I had two collections that the letter they sent me said had been "deleted" but yet were still on the report enclosed with the letter. I chose to break with the standard policy of CN and I called them. Two calls got it done, as I referenced the letter saying they had been deleted and their rep removed it. I don't see the harm in calling at this point, since you already have the letter as documentation of the correct action.
