I can't believe I'm getting pretty lucky with my disputes so far. Experian has listed everything as Included in BK and I just checked my online disputes and one of the FUSA accounts was deleted. Same for TU and Equifax. I even disputed an old FUSA that I had joint with my mom ages ago, (been closed by us since 96) with a couple of 30 day lates and it was deleted on Exp. I'm going to try it on TU and Eq too. It's due to fall of late next year anyway. Will this last or could things go back to being reported incorrectly with the balances and stuff? (Stupid question, I know...) I have the 6 accounts listed as negative - Included in BK and have about 26 old positive tradelines listed. Same for hubby. It is kind of funny (In a strange way) to see my reasons for my scores and denials now. Too few bankcard accounts. Too few retail accounts. Length of time oldest bank revolving account has been established is too short. and of course BK too new. Thanks everyone for your advice.
Maybe it depends on the individual who's doing it, but Experian has always been good to me. They took things off early without any dispute, and they changed all my accounts to "included in bk" without any dispute. My bk was 12 yrs ago, when disputing was not as popular as it is now, and EXP was the first one clean. I also never have any problems with them changing my DOB or address like I do with Equifax.
I think you're right Breeze! I had read all kinds of stuff that said, you should send in your schedules, creditor list and discharge. I'm so glad I read up on this board before I disputed. All that wasn't even needed. I just used the dispute form that comes with the first report and then wrote what was wrong also by each creditor on the report. I didn't send a letter detailing everything at all. I'm just thanking my lucky stars for the progress made so far!! Thanks to all of you for all the great info!!
