I've heard that when you dispute an I item on your credit report that the disputed item can not be used against you by lenders or be used twards figuring out your credit score. Does anyone know if this is true? If so could you point me in the right direction to find the documentation to prove it.
I believe that others have reported that when credit report items are marked in the CRA systems as disputed, they have received FICO scores that apparently do not reflect that item. I have no direct experience.
