Good Afternoon everyone, My question is| When I dispute an item with the CRA's and they state that the "information has been verified", my next step is to request information on who they spoke with and what else? If they do respond with the information, what is my next step? Also, I received a collection notice from CBCS on March 19th. I sent a letter requesting the following| 1. Proof that alleged debt was sold off or assigned to your company by the original creditor. 2. Complete account payment history of alleged debt. 3. Copy of the signed contract of the alleged debt. I did not add a copy of their bill with account numbers nor did i put the account number on the letter. My letter was just those three questions and a short beginning sentence stating that I'm disputing this debt. I checked usps.com and they received it on March 31st. I did request return receipt with certified delivery. If for some reason they validate the debt, what is my next step? Please help!
Well, you're probably not going to get what you asked for. They need only provide the name of the original creditor and minimal information on the debt. If you do some research here you'll find what constitutes validation. They don't have to provide a contract, a complete history or even proof that the debt was sold to them. You may get copies of bills that show the original creditor and what you owe.
What about the first part of my post| When I dispute an item with the CRA's and they state that the "information has been verified", my next step is to request information on who they spoke with and what else? If they do respond with the information, what is my next step?
The second part of my question with the CA CBCS. If for some reason they validate the debt, what is my next step? what is my next step with the CA?
