Does anyone have any sample letters for disputing a bankruptcy? I was using Lexington until last month. Apparently I am now receiving the results from the last disputes. They got my bk listing removed from TU. As many of you know they don't give customers copies of the letters they send out. So I would like to dispute the bk listing at the other bureaus. Looking for a good sample letter.

For my ex-H I disputed as not mine. It was deleted. Big thing was to remove the associated address FIRST. I also have disputed the dates or sent disputes of "I never filed a 0 asset 0 liability BK13..." I have had only limite success with that.

How do you remove old addresses? How easy it is and do CRAs try to oppose to your attempts to remove old addresses?

    Call -Say never lived there.
Only address they need is current one.

BG congrats on your success! THAT must feel good!

I realize this is a bit off-topic for what you were wanting, but I'm compelled to ask. If Lexington was successful in removing your BK public item, why aren't you just paying them to do it again??

I had been using them for over 1 year and not much was happening. There were some deletions, and TU stalled for almost 4 months of that year, so I got tried of paying $35 a month and not much was happening. I discontinued the service and 1 month later received an updated report. Perhaps if this had happened before I decided to cancel I may have continued.

I was curious. I never filed BK but was curious about something.
The impression I have been under (and it may likely be wrong) is that when you file Ch 7 and it gets discharged, all the bad tradelines are still on the file to see when your credit gets pulled, but they are notated as 'discharged in BK' is that correct? and if so, when you try to dispute off a BK and it actually gets taken off, how does that reflect those bad tradelines? do they still say discharged in bk? or how are they viewed or at least how does the computer that is processing the application view them (I assume too often that every appliocation for credit is reviewed by a human and of course that isn't accurate.) I was just curious how those neg tradelines that you had dismissed in bk reflect to the computer or how are they seen under manual file review? couldnt they still be seen negatively if a BK is disputed off? Im sorry if they question seems stupid but I have always been curious.

they will still say "IIB". my bk came off easily after the TL's that were "IIB" were removed.

I'd like to know if the neg tradelines come off after 7 years or do the retain they 10 year life of the date of ch 7 discharge.

I'm guessing that they stay on for 10 years since they have IIBK& associated in the comments,

    Does anyone know for sure?

Many of mine fell off after the BK. A few stayed (Cap one). They are supposed to stay on for 7 years but mine were all gone by year 5.

Some fell by themself, some fell when I disputed.

My reports are now totally clean except the BK showing on two- says $0/$0. That is the next thing I am going to work on.

I have been off the 'scene' for a while as, once I got everything cleaned up, I did not pay as much attention to my credit. They only thing left was the two BK entires so was letting time pass before trying.

I do have some wrongfull inquiries I am working on now but I talked about that in another post.
