After reviewing my credit report I discovered a collection for a hospital bill for $40.00, it appears to be from 1998 according to the CR.

I wrote and asked them to accept the full $40 to have it removed from my credit report. They called back and said basicly send in the 40 and we will list as paid but can not remove it. They also said they would not send me the info in the mail since, they had sent it to me back in 98 and the account is now closed.

I want to get this off my credit report, so I have decided to write them again, and say I dispute it. What kinds of things should be in this letter, and what if they indicate it is after the 30 days or whatever, for me to dispute.

    Thanks in advance.
