I was at the Mirage last month with DH and ordered some room service. I paid cash at the time when the food was delivered.

So, I get a bill on my Cap1 for the room service.

Call Mirage and they are "looking into it....will get back to me next week."

The room server kept my cash (about $130) and then billed my cc too? What a tip!

I am going to dispute this with Cap1 too. I have never disputed a cc charge before this.

    What happens??

Well, Cap 1 will "investigate" it and then let you know whether or not they find it valid. During that time it may appear in your balance owed section, but will not accrue interest until they have made a decision. You need to dispute with Cap 1 asap. I have always had these kind of disputes come back in my favor.

    Good luck.

Can you prove that you paid with cash(receipt, employee name/id #, etc)?

No, I can't prove it. That what bothers me. I just paid it and never thought twice.

Me and DH were having some luck at the blackjack tables and I took some of our winnings and just handed over the cash when the guy showed up. Dh was in the bathroom at the time.

It was just one of those things.

The merchant has to have a signed document to verify the charge. If something is done with a debit card, the charge has to be done with a pin number or a signature.

This is called a chargeback to your credit card.
