I would like to dispute hard inquiry with creditor who pulled hard, since I donâ??t have success disputing with CRA. What do I need to know prior to sending them request for hard inquiry removal is how much information about myself should I provide to them. Do I need to include anything else beside my name? How about my address? I donâ??t like to give them anything else except the minimum personal info in my dispute. But Iâ??m afraid if I give them only my name â?? thatâ??s not going to be enough.. Thank you, Denny
It matters alot! If this is a creditor that you do not have an account with, you did not apply for credit with, and you do not owe them $$ then rather than dispute, you need to find out what their permissable purpose for pulling your report was. If they have no pp, then there are $1000 statutory damages built into the FCRA.
Re: Re: Disputing hard - what info to send? Hi Jlynn, Once again, thank you for response. Although I still donâ??t know what should I do and how much of my personal info should I send to them. I will be satisfied if they just remove hard inquiry. This hard inquiry might not be characterized as unauthorized.. Apt rental app.. Also this company pulled hard on the behalf of some other company. So it looks like two of them are involved. Thatâ??s way Iâ??m looking for some â??easyâ? and â??safeâ? way to remove this inquiry if I can. Should I also include a copy of the section of credit report that shows their company listed as pulling a hard on my report or not? I would appreciate any advice regarding this. Thank you, Denny
Re: Re: Disputing hard - what info to send? Hi Denny, I would like to help you but I'm newbie here Hope someone will! Good luck!
Re: Re: Disputing hard - what info to send? In the sample letters forum there is a sample letter for this situation. Customize it... Don't provide any information other than customizing the information on the form. -- If the inquiry was for anything that you applied for however, they had a PP... So the sample letter would not work... You may try to ask that they ask that the CRA report the inquiry as a soft, but that would be up to them.
Re: Re: Disputing hard - what info to send? So you are basically asking for a "goodwill deletion"? Sounds like they had a pp. I think in that case you may need to give them enough information to do what you are asking.
Re: Re: Re: Disputing hard - what info to send? Should I go with not mine? What would be enough information - name and address? Thank you, Denny
