My cc will not cycle again until mid to late next month. If I make a payment then dispute, will it update my balance to show the payment. If so, will it take the whole 30 days for them to update the balance? I am about to apply for a mortage as soon as my mergered file is fixed. I plan to call early next week after they (EXP) has received my letter.
I do it all the time (DISPUTE BALANCE) on EQUIFAX (ON-LINE) it "CAN" take 30 days but it seems to take way less than that...sometimes 15 days...
Thanks. Hopefully Exp will have corrected by file by the time my dispute is updated. I don't want to wait another 30 days to apply for a mortgage. Another question. One of my Cap 1 accounts increased my fee from $3 to $6 and another added $39 ann fee to my card this month. I closed the 1st card and want to close the second. However I don't know if this is wise with me about to apply for a mortgage. One is my second oldest tradeline with a $200 limit and $56 balance. The second is only about a year old with a $500 limit and a $100 balance. Would it be wise to close the accounts now? How will it affect my scores?
Re: Re: Disputing to update balance Try to get BOTH accounts combined into one account... Keep the lowest cost one... If you close both accounts...it "MAY" affect your score...depends on what the other accounts you have are and how old they are... If your "OLDEST" account has a limit of $200 and you have other cards with limits over $5,000...you MIGHT lose some points because of the age deal... ...but the SCORE is based on MANY OTHER THINGS...
Re: Re: Disputing to update balance Over $5K that a laugh. My highest balance, which is also my oldest is $1363. It was open 4/01. The one that I just closed was open 10/01. The other one that I want to close was opened 4/02. I think I am going to call and have it reopened if possible. I don't want to leave anything to chance right now.
