I had never saw, checked, or new what my credit was befor joining this forum. In fact I knew nothing. Part ignorance/part fear. After being here a month, I feel empowered! So far, I have Ordered and paid for all 3 reports from MyFico.com and paid to get a TU thru TrueCredit.com. I also got a free EX. I have read the board thoroughly, and have posted several questions that have have been an answered timely and clearly....Thank you all!! I went to the post office and picked up several certified mail/return receipts and am ready to begin disputing(several listed accts not mine) with the CRA's, and from there validate any that dont drop off with CAs. I actually already have had 1 collection deleted when I accidentally disputed an item online thru Experian.(less than 2 weeks!!) My concern is this: How will CRAs/CAs know the accounts Im referencing when I cant seem to find a full acount number to include in my letter?? None of the reports I have complete info. Even my collections have cryptic code for the acct#. Will my SS# new address and copy of DL be enough for them to complete their due diligence and conclude that the accounts are not in fact mine??? I feel like my case should be easy to make being that I share my dad's name (im jr.) and lived at home for 2 years (same address). Several items have been mixed (seems like just the bad stuff) , but should be cleared up with a simple check on the SS#. I just moved into a new place, should I update my address and request that all previous addresses/employers removed(there are like 10 listed all the way back to to like 1978). I've only lived at a couple and only worked at 1 of the employers listed. Is there procedure to update all of this aqnd a way for them to check status without full account #s??
