I have a question. I am about to enter a consolidation program, under the advise of a mortgage broker, but before I do this I think that I have decided to try to dispute a few of these acct's before we consolidate. My question is this if I successfuly dispute, and these trade lines {or acct's} are removed from our credit report, are they permanently removed or can they crop up again later? I need some solid advise! Thank you, Betty
They can crop up again. I dont understand how disputing would effect you consolodating your date.. That alone should improve your scores once those credit lines and/or loans report 0 balance on your credit reports
I have something else that I would like to add, one of the items that I am going to dispute is an old credit card debt {maybe 5 - 6 years old} that has since gone from collection to an attorney with a judgement. This attorney keeps calling and harrassing. Would the cease and desist letter that explains that I will only deal with the original creditor work hear, or is it to late for that? Thanks again, Betty
Go to the court and get all the papers on it. See if there are any errors in it. Can anyone here help me help this person on this?
