I was disputing a tradeline over the phone today with Transunion when I the person on the other side of the line tells me something disturbing. Here's the story: One of my accounts showed that I was 30 days late twice, once in Sept. and Oct. of the same year. I disputed the information and they took off those lates -- but they also "found" that I was 90+ days once a few months before. But that's not the worst of it. This information was supposedly updated in their records. I pulled my score and IMMEDIATELY called TU. Among other things, the lady on the other line tells me that the top negative factor on my report is that I have too many late payments too close to each other. Huh? This is impossible b/c those were the only lates on my entire report. And if their info. has been updated and I only have one late, how can they be too close to each other. In addition, the negative factors she told me were TOTALLY different than the ones I was looking at in my report. When I asked her about it she said: "your credit score is constantly changing" I said that I pulled the report an hour ago and she said: "that's what I mean." This bothers me. How long does it take them to update their OWN records?!! And shouldn't it be that the negative factors I'm told are the ones that are actually on the report?
That really is disturbing. It seem as if they've taken it upon themselves to frame a picture of you today, as lbrown suggests, instead of just sticking to their jobs: reporting your history accurately and completely.

I am TELLING you, I am certain any negative info, even if false, is embedding itself in the files and that is why when an error is corrected we don't immediately get the points back. It's a crock.
sorry richguy, don't speak German. Sadly enough, I never even read Wagner's play from which my character arises -- I saw the name in a dictionary once and just adopted it. as for credit related stuff, maybe they just have slow systems that don't update quickly and the people who answer the phones don't get that -- or aren't allowed to comment on it.
I can believe that one. Everytime I dispute with Transunion and get an updated report I don't see a TL on there - but I do see the negative tradeline on their website. It also shows up on the WK site. Why would it not be on the credit report they send to me, yet it shows up on the other 2 sites? I have disputed it, so we shall see what happens. Actually, I have disputed it - back in March. I am going to have to go over my old reports to see what happened. Could be they reinserted it - but did it in a way they think I can't notice it.
