My understanding is that in California, all married couples have the right to have 'segregated credit files'. This leads me to ask the question, what success has anyone had on this board by disputing items as 'belongs to spouse, not me, please delete.' It would seem that this tactic would make reverification extremely difficult since most OC's have both the husband and wife SS#'s. Therefore, just checking by the CRA to see if the actually have your SS# (to confirm as your account) a greater deal of research would have to be done to see if your wife or husband opened the account?? Am I on to something??

Further, what success has anyone had disputing on the basis that an account 'belongs to ex-spouse' ???
