Lots of things go wrong when consumers sign that credit card from Direct Merchants Bank and slip it into their wallet.
Some are predictable -- high interest rates, shocking fees, rude service. Others would come as a surprise to anyone. Take the times when credit advance checks written on a DMB account get "lost." The money doesn't show up on the receiving end but DMB goes merrily along, charging
customers interest for funds they never received.

And what about DMB's "protection" plan, which is supposed to make your credit card payments if you become disabled. It works about as well as you'd expect, which isn't saying much.
