I was going over my Equifax report and was wondering if all the closed, paid accounts that are 7 years old or older (5 of them) should no longer show up at all???

Also, once a collection shows as paid on the credit report, will your score improve?

Close, POSITIVE trade lines will remain 10 years, not seven.

Don't expect a paid collection to improve your FICO scores. Expect AGE to affect a collection account.

I can only go by what it says on my EXPERIAN CREDIT REPORT...closed accounts drop off after seven years from closed date...

Some people have said you can get them to keep them on longer.
