Do CAs make collection calls beginning the day they send their first letter to you, or do they wait for 30 days (so you've missed your chance to validate) or... ?
    Just curious.

Did their first letter include your right to dispute, and that if you didn't dispute within 30 days, they would assume the debt to be valid?

Of course CA's make collection calls beginning the day they send their first letter to you....most times they start calling BEFORE you ever get a letter from them....there is no reason for them to wait 30 days...the 30 days is the time that YOU have to dispute the debt....they can keep contacting you until you dipute with a validation request and you receive the green card back. Once you have received that...any further contact with you before they validate is continued collection activity.
