For a very brief time, about 3 months, our Sears account was managed by a credit counseling service and then we resumed payments on our own and after 2 plus years, paid it off in full on our own. In the comments section under our Sears account, it says 'managed by consumer credit counseling'. I've sent a letter to Sears from the credit counseling place 3 times now, which indicates that we terminated our relationship with them in 1999. Sears keeps saying they've never received it.(shoulda sent it certified, I know..) We've disputed it - not the lates, just the CCS notaton. We get an update from Experian today and they've deleted the lates and moved it to positive status, but the notation of 'managed by ccs' remains, even though it's now a positive account. I'm getting exasperated here. No one seems to understand my mission here - I just wanted the account updated to be accurate and everything is happening with this Sears account except what I want - it's been completely deleted off of other reports, remains as verified on others, and now this. So, I'm wonderin' if since it's now moved to positive status, and not listing any lates, but the rotten CCS notation remains, I'm wondering if it's still a negative? Do I need to continue with Experian to get this notation off or just let well enough alone and be grateful for the change from negative to positive status?? Thoughts??
