On my report I see notations under "status" statements like "verified or updated 4/2002 remains unchanged". These are the result of my disputes not going the way I would have liked. Do potential creditors see this too when they pull my report? Or is that just for my benenfit?
When you receive a letter stating "verified or updated 4/2002 remains unchanged" that means that the bureau is responding to your dispute. Whatever your credit report looks like when you order it, that's exactly what the creditors will see, they will not have any knowledge of past disputes you have made. I have the same statement on my reports. If the creditors can see this statement then they will know that we have disputed several accounts. Hopefully, when I apply for a home loan in a couple of weeks the lender doesn't think I'm trying to repair my credit.
Alex, When was the last time you (or creditinsiders) took a look at a consumer credit report from EX? EX doesn't just send a letter, they put the notation DIRECTLY on the consumer version of the report. I'd like to know, too, whether creditors get the consumer version...I know they don't get the complete consumer version because that includes soft inquiries and the creditor version does not. Mist.
Does anybody know this? I'd like to know without paying for the tri-merge myself. Right on my report it shows "This item was verified on 4/2002 and remains unchanged". I want to know if my lender will see that so I can figure out how I should explain it to them. I don't really care to have them know that I've disputed items that have come back verified. Thanks!
The only way you would know...would take your reports with you when they "PULL" yours at the MORTGAGE COMPANY...(or some other loan company)... They MIGHT even copy them for you...then they might not...BUT they should let you "TAKE A PEEK"...
