addendum: As for CRAs, I got a personal DellPreferred account for 1500/21%; they pulled Exp I had 690 FICO with 14/22 inqs prev 6/12mo; a few months later I got a business account for 7500/??%, they pulled Exp also, I had 710 FICO with 5/19 inqs prev 6/12mo (most of the inqs were from 3 attempts to re-fi my house)
Dell only reports to EXPERIAN. I have an account with Dell. Was approved for $1500.00. Dell does not offer credit line increases ever. Once you are approved for an account with a certain line of credit that is all you will ever get until account is closed.
Re: Re: Do you own a Dell? Thanks for posting. This was extremely helpful. I was unaware that opening the case would not violate the warranty. I learned something today. So, does anyone think that the $449 package is as good as it gets? Also, what's the purpose of offering a rebate? Is it for cash flow or something? I wish Dell would discount the system by $100 instantly rather than force people to wait 8-12 weeks for their money and probably months after the account has been satisfied. CardKid
Re: Re: Do you own a Dell? I'm also hearing that Dell offers $1500 credit lines quite often. I never hear of $1000 or $5000 lines. Maybe Dell extends the higher lines to businesses because they probably purchase more often or in larger quantity. CardKid
No, I don't own a Dell. I'm a faithful Mac user Powerbook 12" 1 GHZ G4 768mb 60gb Bluetooth built-in Airport Extreme (wi-fi) Superdrive OSX 10.2.6 Dual 1 GHZ Powermac G4 1 GB ram Dual 120 GB hard drives Superdrive Geforce 4 20" Apple lcd display Airport Extreme OSX 10.2.8 and an ever faitful (gracefully aging) iMac (bondi blue)
I purchased a Dell laptop inspiron 8100 about two years ago. I'm still using it. The hard drive went out under warranty. It took over 3 weeks and a lot of frustration to get the replacement but I finally did. For some strange reason I probably would buy from them again as that has been my only problem. Otherwise I have been happy with it. John
I did a little searching and found a code for an additional $25 off of a Dell home system. The catch is the system must be over $500. Here's the coupon code: B036FDAB63CA. I found it at www.techbargains.com. A coupon-type site. Now, the $449 system can be purchased at $424. Here's how: $549 Original Price - $25 (B036FDAB63CA) Code expires 2/29/04 -$100 mail-in rebate =$424 plus whatever tax is charged At that price, I cannot go wrong. However, I have until November 26th to decide. That's when the price of the package changes. I'm still searching the web just to make sure I didn't miss any other opportunities to save on this desktop system. CardKid
I've got a dell inspiron and love it. Used Cap. 1 card to buy it, so I got the high credit thing going on. But, I just adore the new 20GB iPOD I bought last night. I was never an apple fan till I got my hands on the iPOD. Man, this thing is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
I placed my order today. This is as good as it gets. I received my order confirmation for th PC, digital camera and printer. However, when I log into "my account" at the site, it cannot find the order. I'll give it a few days and check again. Thanks, everyone, for contributing to the thread. CardKid
I had a similar problem when I ordered....It kept saying it couldn't find my order for my Dell desktop. It took a few days to update.
Great News!! Dell has improved their home system offer. The site indicates they're offering a faster processor and a lower price for the package that includes a 17" monitor, digital camera and printer. With all the rebates, including the $25 coupon code, I've gotten the price down to $414. I'm excited. CardKid
Dell raised the price of the package by $10. But, you can save an additional 3% when you order. 1) Select a home system offer 2) Apply $25 coupon 3) Select "credit card" as method of payment 4) Look for "3% discount" offer at top of screen 4) Select "Click here to take advantage of this offer" 5) Follow the prompts When approved, the discount is applied. Good luck!! CardKid
with most citi bank accounts a previous BK is a instant rejection, is dell a BK friendly creditor? public records?
