Did you just apply online or did you get a preapproval notice? I got a preapproval in the mail and when I go to their website, the only thing the preapproval "invitation number" seems to do is fill in some of the blanks on the application form. Otherwise the "preapproved" form is the same form you'd get if you applied at random.
