Do you know of a letter from ftc or any site that shows the CRA's are required by law to re-investigate if you dispute an item.

I'd like to have this in case TU says they won't reinvestigate a paid charge off that was recently verified.

    Thanks in advance...

The FCRA obligates CRA to reinvestigate consumer disputes unless they are "frivolous," but the statue leaves it wide open for the CRA to interpet what exactly constitutes the "frivolous" designation.

There may well be an FTC opinion letter regarding this, but I don't have that. Hopefully somebody else will chime in and assist further!

    Good luck to you, btw.

By the way, I meant "statute"... Statues rarely say anything much. :)

But what if they send you a letter saying it's already been investigated?

I doubt they would send it certified so you could say you never got it...
