My wife and I just found out that we each had 1 soft inquiry from about 8 months ago deleted. Same company. These are the 1st removals we have seen since all of our over 1 year old inquiries were removed when Doc mentioned the trick. The other stuff we disputed at the time remains in dispute. We have never seen a change in score due to soft inq. removal.
I had 2 hard inquiries deleted today. 5 point increase Just need to drop a few more and I may sniff 700...
2 more weeks and the 30 days to complete the investigations are up. We are hoping that a ton of soft inq's are going away. Not to sound like a broken record, we called 1-888-5-OPTOUT and put a stop to pormotional inq's.
Just an update. 5 more soft inq's were deleted today on my wife and my reports. 1 of those deletions was offset by a new soft inq. Still no change in score.
The mad herd-like rush to delete soft INQs using doc's trick by members of CN was a monumentally stupid self-injurious act.
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet Are there any other adjectives you'd like to include in your unexplained one-liner? Saar
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet Indeed, there are many. Um, let's see. They have no effect at all on scores. And everybody, willy nilly, with no thought at all, typical herd mentality, over a 24 hour period decides to dispute them. "Whee look at me I disputed 80 softs." An event which never occured even when INQ disputes were permitted. And the whole thing goes away 48 hours later. And all this for something that DOES NOT IMPACT YOUR SCORE. If it did impact your score you have a multimillion $ deceptive practices lawsuit. The result. Might it have gone away anyways. Sure. Will we ever know how long it could have lasted had people exercised even a modicum of common sense or self restraint. Nope. Oh, btw, if you believe the reps from EXP, had it lasted all one had to do was dispute a hard twice and would go away automatically. Those are hards. The ones that actually do matter. Monumentally stupid does not even begin to describe it.
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet 1. They effect whether or not you are able to even view your report online. 2. I'm a little cuirous about the 2 point "willy nilly" increase I got?
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet Oh, excuuuuse me, people gave up the ability to dispute hard INQs on EXP because they were worried prospectively about the ability to view their reports online. Of course. Silly me. (This is also, of course, why the only folks who have this problem look at creditexpert every day). My mistake. First this isn't why people did it. People did it because everybody else was. Second, if that's really why anybody did it was monumentally squared stupidity. As to your 2 points, I do not accept that it was related to soft deletions. There are many possible explanations even if it occured simultaneously (there are so many stories of CE soft deletions with no raise in score it is beyond unbelievable), even if it was the CE score is not a real score, and if you could establish ANY change in score resulting from soft INQs then all those CRA statements are actionable and the result would be a lawsuit worth millions of dollars. Why can't people accept this? Softs don't affect scores. Disputing 100s of softs did nothing except further and unnecessarily raise a big red flag. And for something of no value people took actions that probably contributed to giving up something of real value.
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet thanks doc so far 2 hard inquires(feb,2002) have been deleted and countless soft inquires.
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet Can't you make your point without having to call people names? It doens't say much for you.
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet An update. A bakers dozen of soft inq's were deleted from my wife and my credit reports in the last couple of days. 1 inq that I don't recall being there appeared on my report only. 4 inq's were verified. No change in score. I am not trying to hurt anyone's feelings by keeping this post alive. Doc's trick has another week or so before the 30 day time expires. I think it is important to follow through with the results.
Re: Doc's trick, 2 soft inq's delet No change in CE score doesn't mean much for FICO score or for proprietary scores (Let alone profitability scores). Saar
