different products? I ask because I was denied for Blue 3 weeks ago due to too many inquiries. They pulled Equifax and I had 3 (including theirs) in the previous 8 months. I was thinking of applying for the Delta card, but only if they might pull a different cra. Also, am I correct that Discover uses Experian?
AIRLINES cards are easier to get because they get that ANNUAL FEE... ^^ I've never paid the citibank AAdvantage nor Delta Fee. BDD.. actually my gf has delta skymiles card, they solicited her by phone "NO ANNUAL FEE".
Ugh. I am SO tempted to apply for the Delta Skymiles card now that my score is so much higher than the last time I was denied for that card and approved for the Green card. I am trying to be good and to not apply for anything else, but Amex is so easy since they don't verify the inquiries. My fourth statement is about to close on my Green card and I understand I could start getting preapproved offers for upgrades after six months, so I think I'll just grit my teeth and wait it out. Getting any kind of Optima card again is one of my credit goals (since I had one before I screwed up my credit) so the temptation to apply is driving me crazy.
I saw a relevant post about this in the past by sph88 at http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=72068 Anyhow, the theory is that AMEX rotates CRA's if multiple applications are received in a short time period. I did some research on this at http://www.millcbs.com and the data suggests this may be true. You can find states listed with 2-3 apps for AMEX products from the same zip code within a short time period and 1 of them will be from a 2nd CRA. I hope to test this out soon. Here's the info as I cut it from the original post(s): ######## Amex rotates CRA'S when you apply for multiple cards in a short time period, however you must apply over the phone and as soon as your apllication shows up on the system [24 hours] call 1-800-962-7227 and speak with a supervisor to manually approve you! If you wait for the application to run its course the computer will decide your status and limit. Sometimes it takes the phone applications 5 minutes to be in the system and some times up to 24 hours.Keep calling 1-800-962-7227 and if you get the "we recieved your apllication for the........card "message it is in the system. BTW request instant approval when doing phone apps. ########
Ditto. I got declined for several amex cards, then tried sky miles. They pulled Eq. with about 12 inquiries. Called the number, had them do a manual review, and got approved right away with a 25k limit. When I let the computer do the work, I couldn't even get in the door. BTW, score was about 680 at the time.
Apply for Amex Starwood preferred (Former Sheraton card). It is easy. Two friends were approved instantly online and they had some retails only on their report. As you know they are pulling from Equifax, but give it a shot!. In regards to Discover they pulled TU for me a month ago (I was denied). Discover is hard to get!.
