Before I found this board, I had an old phone bill I had overlooked that was on my credit. Called them up, paid it over the phone, and they deleted from my credit the next month. This was last year, still have the letter. The person I spoke to was Haley at 800-766-1551 x 723. If she's still there maybe she can help you. I don't know if you want to go that route as opposed to the validation process, this is just my personal experience. Good luck!
The acct is only $55 today I sent a letter ( kind of like settle for deletion) telling them I would pay the $55 for deletion we will see how that works out, hope I did not screw myself. I actually think the acct is more but that is what was on his cr.
