I got a letter yesterday saying I was pre-approved, blah blah blah. I called the number, because my hubby has been hounding me about a cell phone. Well, I was pre-approved for 2 free phones, w/ only a 1 year contract. They are coming in the mail today. I have 15 days to decide if I want them or not. I don't think I need one, because I'm always home! LOL Do you have ATT, and do you like it? It has free long distance, so I could save $$$ that way!! They are really nice phones too, because the free ones are on back order, so they bumped it up to newer models!
I'm in the Mid-Atlantic region..have had ATT wireless for about 4 years. Have never had a problem. Customer service is great too!
I've used ATT wireless for 8 years and find them to be a wonderful company to deal with! The free long distance saves me big bucks because I have a daughter in college that I talk to on a daily basis.
Thanks, I'm glad I got them then! I'm also glad I didn't buy one, because I would've been REALLY mad after getting this offer!!!
Tracy; One nice thing about AT&T is that you can adjust your plan each month up to the actual billing date depending on your usage. For instance, if you know you went over your minutes this month or had roaming charges coz you traveled, you can move up to a plan that covers it better...and then the next month move back down again! (Not all the providers do that) I would agree that AT&T has been pretty good overall, but lately Customer Service has had 10-15 delays in answering calls...(in So. California anyway) Good luck!
I worked for thier CS dept for ATT Wireless before downsizing, & they are the ONLY svc that I would recommend. I have carried a cell phone since McCaw/Cellular One days & they have the BEST network available(trust me.....no one can touch them). Grant you others provide free unlimited this & that, but it isn't a bargain when you can't use your phone WHEN/WHERE you need to. Sister Girl
I feel so much better now. I only hope we get some use out of them. I signed one up w/ a 2 yr agreement, and one up w/ a 1 yr. agreement. I figure, if at the end of 1 yr. we don't use both of them, we can cancel one. I know for a fact that my hubby will keep his, it's mine I'm not sure about. This was a spur of the moment decision, so I didn't research companies. I usually check out all options first. I'm glad that this one isn't going to come back and bite me in the butt!!! Thanks!!
I agree with the other posters in this thread about the great CS & rate plans ATTwireless has. However, in the Southern California area I can't recommend them due to poor network performance. There are a large number of dead areas, and even when the phone shows a strong signal, you'll get a lot of drop-outs, echo, etc. I used both a Nokia and a new Motorola v60, so I think it's their network, not the phones. Many people I talk to in this area have also had service problems. I just switched to Verizon and wish I had done so a long time ago. P.S.: They will pull a hard inquiry and report for 6 months, then they quit reporting unless you start paying late.
who will pull the hard for only 6 months, verizon or ATT? I would like it if the ATT hard disappeard after 6 months, since it's my 2nd one this month on EQ.
Oops, sorry I wasn't too clear on that - the hard inquiry from ATT will stay for the full two years (on Experian for me). ATTwireless will also report a credit account with payment terms of one month. As long as you pay on time, this will be a positive tradeline. Then, after 6 months it will just dissappear. I guess they figure that if you pay on time for 6 months, it's no longer worth it for them to pay the fee to have the account listed with a CRA. I haven't seen an inquiry from Verizon yet, but it might be on TU, which I look at more infrequently.
Will you post the 800# on the preapproval please? I received one and threw it away, and now wish I hadn't. Thanks.
