visas/mc are considered retail cards. One of my score reason codes on each report is lack of retail card, blah blah blah.... I have no retail cards and was considering applying for the Target Visa, but, if it's not considered a retail card, I won't apply.

    LKH,

I think that Target Visa is pretty easy to get if you don't have any collection or charge-off acounts. They seems to give anyone who apply for it. The other one I think is State Farm Bank Visa that I think. Don't quote me on that and I don't know. I gor approved for both cards within 1 month. They approved me: Target Visa $8500 at 15.9% APR lowered to 12.9% APR by calling Customer service and State Farm Bank Visa $5000 at 11.65% APR var.
Target Visa pulled Eauifax and State Farm Bank pulled TransUnion.

Target Visa is NOT a store card. Apply for Target Guest Card only on the online app. You will more than likely get the guest card. At 21%APR, I think 200 limit is more than enough.
