I disputed a $96 collection on my CR last week, and just got a notice in the mail from RJM Acquisitions that they had purchased the original debt- this debt is from August of 2003- i have disputed this debt before- i did not sign up for this - it was a book club- kind of like the BMG music clubs... They have 2 seperat book club accounts that I did not sign up for- I am trying to figure out how to best respond to this.
There are many places where you can find the statute of limitations for any state. The only one I pay any attention to is lawdog.com because they are the only one I have ever found that is kept up to date. Listings of SOL found on other web sites have always proven to have errors and some of them are pretty bad because they were copied from somewhere else, usually years ago and never updated since. Furthermore Lawdog provides much more information on the statutes and other related law than any other site I have ever found.
