Does Discover hold a grudge?

Ten plus years ago, I had a Discover card as a student. I can't honestly remember whether the card was joint with my mother or whether I was just an AU. It went way past due, into collections, and eventually I paid it off. It dropped off my credit report years ago under the 7 year rule.

Now I am getting a "preapproved" offer from Discover for a Platinum card. It offers 0% on BT through April 2005, and I really would love to take advantage of it...the problem is, even though the tradeline has fallen off my reports, won't Discover still have me in their system? I don't want to waste a hard to find out they'll never touch me.

    Any experiences to share?
    Thanks

Watch out. Discover does blacklist and you could be on it. If you have an inquiry or two to burn, go ahead and try. If you were only an AU, you might be in the clear. Discover can be very strange.

I CO'ed an account with them more than 7 years ago and they still remember

    NO CLI FOR 2 YEARS...

WON'T GIVE ME 0.00% NO FEE THAT THEY GIVE NEW CUSTOMERS...

9.90% $50.00 FEE or 7.90% $50.00 FEE is what they "THINK" I should take!!!!
    I DON'T THINK SO!!!
