A week ago my EQ score was 686. A day later it dropped to 666 after Providian reported my account a second time with a different balance. After disputing this I received a letter by mail advising this had been deleted - they actually deleted both enties and the score went up to 719 which is strange as it has never passed 700 even with a zero balance. It therefores eems that just the presence of a Providian account (wuth two years perfect payment history) takes 20 points off - work that out. I guess this needs dumping quick.

I think I will see what Amex have to offer with this score before it drops again!

I have a providian card with a $0 balance. It was opened in 2001 and it is a positive TL.

    Will closing help my score?

I have 4 other cards and it is not my oldest.

How about Cap One and Household do you think these matter since they offer more than subprime cards and no one knows.
