I'm about to begin the actual repair portion of my credit repair mission -- before I dive in, has anyone with a unique or unusual name encountered any difficulties because of your name? I mean, if you're Joe Smith, it's pretty easy to say that they've got the wrong guy, but what about the Voteporix Katwavani's of the world?

My last name is pretty rare. There's only 3 or 4 of my name in all of Texas. The rest of the concentration is in Tennessee and probably number in the 100s. I've gotten 2 reports clean in a fairly short amount of time.

I have a pretty unique name, nobody can ever pronounce it even close to right. I haven't had a problem disputing things. Got 3 of my 4 neg. tradelines removed.

Here is a good one about names....My last name has an unusual spelling. When i got into trouble owing taxes and the state got tax liens, they mispelled it one way. The CRA's all have it spelled another way. I got the tax liens satisfied through the state's tax amnesty program. Then I disputed all negs with the CRA's providing proof of my actual name on DL and utility bills.....as a result all 3 CR's are clean 720 FICO on Equifax, others higher!
