...if I dispute? If they verify the information on an item which is 5 years old, and mark it updated as of 2004, does the item then stay on there another 7 years? If not, then when does the 7 years count from?
NO Date of last Del. and never again caught up. ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <>
By the way, this really means date of original delinquency. Add 180 days to this date and that's the start of the 7-year clock. You may not find this date on any of your credit reports. You might have to call the CRA and ask for it.
Thanks. I have a few items which I will need to attack then. I have a few old collections....paid, about four years ago. What is the ideal way to go about getting these removed....and also will it make a great difference in my score? Also there is a judgment which is about three years old, has been paid. Are there tactics to get this removed?
Phoenix, It's now up to you to determine the date of the most recent delinquency, which immediately preceded a negative action, occurred. Your reporting period runs 7 years from that date.
The 7 year reporting period is measured from the date of the most recent delinquency, immediately preceding a negative action. Here is one of our most valuable threads which deals with this issue. http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...threadid=35447&highlight=reporting+AND+period Butch, ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=415396#post415396

Have you checked into getting it vacated?
