I called Equifax on the 29th because two tradelines that I disputed were still showing as consumer disputes on my credit report over the 30th days, so the girl tells me 5/29 that they will be removed. so for the next couple of days I keep pulling clean report on credit watch to check, they are still showing consumer disputes. So I call again today and the girl on the phone tells me that my tradelines are obvisouly a duplicate and that the duplicate will be removed, but the originals are still on there, so I tell here that this dispute is way over 30 days and you are still showing it as in dispute when I was told it was going to be removed. She tells me that I have to talk to the webside people to see how often they update there site. I not buying it !!!. She then proceeds to tell me that the only thing that was disputed was the amount and that, that was verified on the 24th, so then why is it still showing as "consumer disputes" today ??????? any advise on this one, this girl from EQ has me completely confused!!! kathy
That is their JOB!! ) When the verification process is complete they will send you notification via US mail. Wait until you get the results back in hard copy form from Eq, then formulate a response...until then and by using the phone, you are will just gonna be continually "messed with" by Equifax reps. -Peace, Dave
Dave, Thanks. Are they in some kind of violation with them still showing "consumer Disputes" remark even though it has been way over 30 days and they are saying that the info has been verified?? if anyone knows the answer to this one.
I guess you could argue they are, but I would not want to be in front of a judge with that argument Wait to see what is on the hard copy, it will arrive any day. Then you'll have it in writing. My guess (and this is a total guess) is that they are claiming they received verification, and the information is being entered into the system. You just checked the results midway through the investigation update process. I have done this and seen odd results like that too. -Peace, Dave
