my Husband has no type of credit at all the only thing i would think that could possibly be on his cr is maybe a few in the last 3 years late pay on phone bill 30 day if that....and late pays probably because he co-signed for my car (my fault) so i applied for a sears card in his name....just to see what would happen and i get a letter back saying... unable to approve request for the following reasons Number of open accounts, Utilization of available credit, Unfavorable credit history......does this sound right if he has never even had a credit card? has never bought anything on credit only pays by cash...besides our car that is paid off that he co-signed??? i requested his cr's he's never seen them before....do you think someone screwed up somewhere?

too much has already covered this eloquently but I will reiterate: ALWAYS get a credit report from all 3 bureaus before applying for credit so you don't get any surprises. Now you have wasted an inquiry.

You can get 3 new reports pulled daily for $1 at www.privacyguard.com for 3 months.
