We had a great first round... all mortgage lates came off as well as many others. We sold our house in April to relocate to LA this summer (house sold to fast). Four of us are living in a 900 sq.ft. apartment. We've been waiting for our credit scores to increase before applying for a mortgage! Just called the Amex Credit Bureau Reporting Unit (Phone: 954-503-3787). No begging... no threats... no sob stories.... Just a nice lady who said "we'll have the CO removed from all three CRAs and will send out a letter of confirmation!" Yippee!!! This was an excuse for many sleepless nights!!! All we have left are a couple 30s on each of our reports! All CCs are paid off, though only one has updated... Car loans are paid off too! My EQ FACO popped up by 23 points last night to 705 (I know... not likely true score) when my First National Bank Mastercard updated the balance from $8,200 to $267!!! Cars and one more CC are still showing balances!!! Do I dare think 750??? We'll be able to buy a house soon!
Jlynn, it's a CO we paid in a settlement about three weeks ago ... I told them nothing... I swear it. She accessed the account, and said she'd remove the derogs. I was going to fax a goodwill letter, then decided I'd try a call. I was totally pessamistic! Can't believe it was so easy... I only wish I had called two weeks ago! For anybody who has a paid CO with AMEX... call! If it doesn't work, call again! Unfortunately, I didn't get the CBRU Rep's name... I know... Rule No. 1 get names:-(... but if it's on the confirmation letter I'll post it!
