Hello. Trying to determine when things are due to fall off my EXP CR. My report lists 4 dates on each entry. I called EXP and the lady there said I should look at the "Reported since" date then add 7 yrs and that's when it would fall off. BUT then changed her tune when I asked about a second account. Then the 'beginning date' she quoted me was the "Date Opened" date. ???? Here's what I'm talking about: Account number xxxxx (collection acct) Date Opened: 02/2003 Reported Since: 12/1999 Date of Status: 12/1999 Last Reported 03/2003 This account she said was due to fall off 12/06 (and said that I shouuld go by the "Reported Since" date. Account number xxxx (paid, Closed/Collection acct) Date Opened: 05/1999 Reported Since: 08/1999 Date of Status: 03/2004 Last Reported: 03/2004 THIS account she said was due to fall off 05/06 (not 08/06 like it would be if I used her above logic of the "Reported Since" date). Is she right w/ any of these? I thought I was looking for a date of delinquency or date of last activity--I'm sure the OC's didn't report this to a CA the first month it wasn't paid. The first is a creditor that I have no knowlege of. I will send DV but first have to get my 11 or so wrong addresses and a maiden name off my EXP report (tried that earlier today on the phone and got NOWHERE--but that's another post). I have no date of delinquency in any of my records for any accts that might be mine. . . so if EXP can't give them to me, who can?
Are both of these the TLs listed by CAs, or do you have in this CR, or a past one, the corresponding TLs placed by the OC?
Unfortunatley, I was sticking my head in the credit sand for a long time and I just recently (beginning of this year) decided I can/should get serious about looking at stuff. So, no, I don't have a prior credit report to compare this to. . . and nothing from the OC
Sorry. The 1st one is a CA and the second one is a student loan (which is listed a few times on the CR under various versions of the same named company--even though there was just one loan). I think the student loan one is the OC (similar name) but can't be 100 percent sure.
