Background: My wife has a charge-off from a furniture store that resulted from actions almost 7 years ago. TU already removed the entry, Equifax is scheduled to remove in Jul 2010; however, Experian is scheduled to remain till 2013(obviously an erroneous date). I'm positive i've done nothing to reage the account, making any additional payments etc.

I've disputed the dates with all three reporting agencies, and they all came back verified. (it was a separate dispute that got TU to delete)

I was going to call the original creditor, however am a little hesitant due to the following.

This creditor obtained a default judgment in Utah for the account. I've been able to get the judgment removed from TU and Equifax; however it's still on Experian and is scheduled to remain until Mar 2011.

From my research(correct me if I'm wrong), Utah judgments are good for 8 years, There is an allowance for a one-time renewal; however, it's not just a rubber stamp, and most Utah creditors do not renew for consumer credit accounts(again, please correct me if you know better).

I now live in Texas, and have no non-exempt property.

Given all the above, how should I proceed with correcting the Experian date?

    Thanks

I'm not familiar with Utah law, but I would send Experian a letter stating the DOLA is incorrect. If it comes back verified, I would send them a follow up letter saying the two other bureaus have removed the item from your report and they are breaking the law by continuing to report the item on your report.
