Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia I hope you continue to have good luck with it GVieve. too much are you a Kia salesman? http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia I work with 2 ladies and they both have Kias and they both have had problems from day 1 and both complained about Kia service in regards to repair. I actually borrowed one ladies car on lunch one day. It was raining and I couldn't drive more than 20 miles an hour or the car would slide and skid. She said that it has always done that. I have drove some bad cars before, but never anything like that. It was very unsafe. Just fyi in case anyone might consider buying.
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia My Rio is the same way in the rain. Really something with rain and wind. http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Hi there - you might want to post this on www.planetfeedback.com Thanks for letting us know! Poochie
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia My ex and I had a 99 Sephia. In the first few weeks were were in for warranty issues 2 times. After a month or so the brakes completely went, after a month and a half the windshield wipers broke (the control arm or something) and every time I had to get rude in order to get them fixed. You will not tell me that these things are wear and tear on a car that is under 2 months old! One of those blessings that don't seem like it at the time happened....it got totaled and we still had to pay $8k because it was less than a year old and worth NOTHING!! Then the insurance company didn't even want to pay for it because it was a KIA one of the worst rated for insurance. A symbol 13 at the time. Thank GOD he is history and still is that piece of S&%T Kia.
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Thanks Poochie , I have posted my story there and intend to add a link to planetfeedback on my web site. I have not heard anything from Kia yet in response to the planetfeedback letter. I suspect the only way I will get my issues settled is court or if my web site cuts down on the business at this dealership they may decide to fix it. Lucky, brakes seem to be a problem with Kia. I have heard of others having the same problems. Would you be willing to write your problems up and send them to me for posting on my web site? It would be a good warning to others. If you would just send them to kiariowarranty@yahoo.com Thanks http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Guess what, I got a response to my letter on planetfeedback, or at least planetfeed bad did. Here it isThis is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Now this is starting to get scary. I talked to 2 folks at work, and all they had to say about KIA was "don't buy it". As the reason for their unhappiness with that particular car maker they cited complete lack of help with car issues while the car was under warranty, brakes giving in, and problems with driving in difficult conditions such as in rain or on snowy surfaces. One guy noted that even with proper tires his Sephia was not stable when driving on snow and while driving in such conditions is always difficult, to him it seemed that the car was just not reacting properly and just, as he put it, "didn't stick to the road". Maybe the lack of good mechanisms and security features is the reason why these cars are so cheap. Shit, I ALMOST bought one..... PawMix
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Stay away from them PawMix. Everything you mentioned in your posting I have noticed in my Kia. Along with complete engine failure, seat belts torn apparently at factory. In fact on a car exactly like mine I have seen this same torn seatbelt. Also, really goes through tires, dome light does not work, carpet poorly installed, dents at the slighest touch, hard to shift. http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Thanks to everyone who visited the site. Please pass the address around to your friends. http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Update! I have hear from the general manage of the dealership. He claims to have never heard of me or this problem and wants to discuss it. I told him that there was little to discuss and my problems and what I wanted done about it was clearly outlined on the web site. Anyone have an opinion on what his next move will be and what mine should be? http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia My son brought one of those "tin lizzies" and he found out about the 10year/100,000 mile warranty real quick! I also drove it once and it would not stay on the road. I was frightened every time I drove it. Dangerous car!! I would advise everyone to stay away from those things.
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Have you consider to "sell" the car back to them, and get yourself a "real" car?
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia BTW, truly admired what you are doing, taking the extra mile to defend your rights, I kind of gave in on my last battle with defected carpet & settle for little less than I paid,... fighting against the big guys isn't always easy...
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia also, you might want to take a closer look on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act & state code for unfair & deceptive practice.. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/warranty.htm#Magnuson-Moss
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Thanks zyzy and I will take a look at that site. Also, the dealer is not interested in the car. http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia What a small world! I ALMOST bought a Kia from Rock River Ford when we lived near Rockford. Thankfully, I called and got an insurance quote first before signing anything. It would have been three times more than what I was currently paying (also for full coverage) to insure that piece of crap that would have fell apart and killed me had I ever been in an accident. The salesman was enraged when I called and told them I wouldn't be buying their deathtrap. Claimed I'd signed some sort of purchase agreement which was total B.S. Pair up the Rock River Block and their shady practices with a faltering auto manufacturer it's always going to be bad. Are you an IL resident? Have you contacted an attorney? Edelman & Combs would love this one- might turn out to be some sort of class action suit.
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Yes smontoya it is a small world. I am an Illinois resident. Do you still live in the area? Would love to have your story to post on the site. Would you consider posting it on my websites forum or perhaps e-mailing it to me through the site's e-mail link to post? I won't put your name or e-mail or anything else you don't want posted. Yes, I have spoke with an attorney. Who are Edelman & Combs, are they located in Illinois? http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia No, I've since moved down to the south suburbs. I can type something up over the next few days and you can post it on there if you wish. Edelman and Combs are a lawfirm, and a very good one at that. They're located in Chicago. They specialize in consumer protection laws- here's their site: http://www.edcombs.com/FSL5CS/Custom/home.asp
Re: Re: Don't Buy From Kia Thanks smontoya, your letter will be a good warning to others about this dealership and these cars. I'll check out the lawfirm's web site. Might post it on the web site as well as I am sure there are others who could use it as well. http://www.pcpages.com/kiario/index.html
