I had an old derog removed and my score went for an improving 572 to an awful 538. Anyone know why it would go DOWN instead of UP for this.
If it was a very old account, the age of it could have been helping your score, more than the derog was hurting it.
How old was the account? It may have been that that account was your oldest account by age. And now you have changed the date as far as how long the CRA has had you on file.
I just checked. That was my oldest account. So I should leave older derogs on there instead of trying to have them removed?
