We hired Consumer Legal Centers based in California to negotiate a debt settlement for us. They were expensive and a waste of money. We did better negotiating with other creditors on our own than they did with one of our creditors; in fact, when we told them to demand a deletion with the OC for settlement, they said "that's never done." We, however, were able to negotiate settlements that included deletions on our own. This board and other forums are impressive in helping debtors to negotiate their own terms.
