my CR is refelcting 2 hard pulls within a few days of each other from the same creditor. the first pull I authorized when I applied for credit I was turned down so why would there be a second pull a few days later? is there any way to get the second pull removed? my fico dropped & the CRA won't budge the creditor has ignored my letters.
The second pull was probably the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. You could take the position that the moment you were turned down following the first pull, they no longer had PP to pull, so they should remove it. It's probably a legitimate enough position to file suit, and it's not worth it to them enough to fight removal. The easiest settlement for them is just remove, but you have to get the attention of the right party.
When and how did they notify you that you were turned down, relative to the second pull? Did they send you a written adverse action notice, indicating their reason you were turned down, and what CRA they pulled?
I was notified in writing about 2 months ago. the first denial letter stated no credit history with the CRA on file which was false. the second denial letter stated I would need to contact them by phone or in writing and they would provide me with a written statement of the reason , I did this and they did not respond. So I made the mistake of calling and the rep was trying to get me to confirm my personal info I was afraid they would attempt to pull another hard so I declined and hung up. any ideas of how I should approach them now?
