Okay, I've raised a few dumb questions in the past few days getting too excited over repairing my credit. I think this one is a valid questions that may help newbies in the future, also something I could not find any information by searching.

In my credit report, the account number of the OC are usually covered up in the last 4 digit. How does one approach this since in the letter you usually have to include the whole account #.

    thanks

Have you received a letter from the creditor or CA attempting to collect on the account? If so, include a copy of their own letter in your validation request.

Is this an on-line credit report, or a paper one requested directly from the CRA and sent by mail?

It is an online credit report. I hired Lexington Law in the past, but have recently told them to stop activity since I like to work on it myself for it might be more effective.

    thanks

I believe the on-line reports truncate the account numbers, since their verification of your identity is less complete, and your request is more anonymous. You can request paper reports directly from the CRAs, with complete account numbers, providing copies of your DL and SS card as ID, by mail. They can verify not only the copies of your ID, but that the address they are sending the report to matches the address they have for you.
